Pete’s Tire Barns teams up with local non-profit for Fill the Monster Truck Food Drive
ORANGE, MASS., July 25, 2011 –Pete’s Tire Barns is pleased to announce their partnership with the Franklin County Community Meal Program and Bridgestone Passenger for the Fill the Monster Truck Food Drive. This will be the second year of the event, which continues Pete’s Tire Barns commitment to their neighbors and surrounding communities.
With over two truckloads of canned goods donated and hundreds of dollars raised during the previous year’s event, Pete’s Tire Barns of Orange, Massachusetts looks to break that record. The MLB All-Star Bigfoot monster truck will be available for photographs at this year’s event and its driver will be on hand to sign autographs.
“We are really excited to be able to help out again this year,” says Ray Turilli, IT & Marketing Director. “Last year was such a success gathering donations for the Food Bank of Western Massachusetts, especially after all the donations we received from local businesses including Wal-Mart and Big Lots. We jumped at the opportunity to partner with the Franklin County Community Meals Program from our Orange, Massachusetts headquarters.”
The Franklin County Community Meals Program offers free meals, food, and household supplies to people in need in the Franklin County. “With more and more people becoming unemployed or underemployed, especially in this part of the state, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to put a meal on the table,” says Amy Clarke of the Franklin County Community Meals Program. “Every Thursday, between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m., over 100 families come to the Orange Food Pantry for food; in the past three months alone, we have had 73 new families in the Orange/Athol area register at our Pantry.” Pete’s Tire Barns look to partner with and support programs that help our friends and neighbors through these difficult times.
Fill the Monster Truck Food Drive will take place at Pete’s Tire Barns 275 East Main Street, Orange, MA location on September 4 from 12-4pm. Scale Die-cast Monster Trucks will be given away to any children under the age of 12 who bring a canned food donation. This event is free and open to the public.
