Directions to Distribution Center:
From Points East (Boston/Eastern Mass): Take Route 2 West to Exit 16 (Athol). Turn left off of the exit ramp and drive approximately 3 miles until you come to a set of lights at McDonalds. At the set of lights, turn left and we are about ½ a mile on the left-hand side. (114 New Athol Road)
From Points North/South (I-91) : Take 1-91 North/South to exit 27 (Route 2 East) Take Route 2 East approximately 15 miles to Exit 16 (Athol). Pete's Tire Barns Tire Distibution Center
In 2006, Pete’s Tire Barns, Inc. unveiled a new, state-of the art Tire Distribution Center. The building sits on a 24-acre site on New Athol Road in Orange, MA. The center, which covers about three acres, serves as a re-supply warehouse for the company's 16 service centers located throughout New England and houses one of the largest assortments of tires on the east coast.
The new Distribution Center has allowed the former warehousing space to be utilized for expansion of the manufacturing and re-treading operations at the Corporate Headquarters East Main Street, as well as a separate production facility to retread and repair industrial and off-the-road tires up to 35/65 33 in size, specializing in re-treading urethane fill tires. Just over 200 truck tires a day are currently produced on site.
The new center is outfitted with seven new mechanical forklifts that are used for loading and unloading deliveries and stocking tires and also helps to reduce work-related injuries and create a more employee-friendly environment.
Aside from producing tires of its own,Pete's Tire Barns Inc. imports tires from all around the globe, including countries such as Canada, Ireland, Italy, Hungary and Spain. The Distribution Center is becoming well-known for its wide selection of specialty tires.
The building is just the first of several planned expansions for the company. Pete’s Tire Barns, Inc has recently opened new locations in Brattleboro, VT and South Windsor, CT and will be opening new service centers in Leominster, MA; Lebanon, NH and Chesterfield, N.H. over the next few years. The Distribution center was specifically designed to handle these additional outlets.
Pete's Tire Barns Inc. presently has a fleet of 98 trucks and employees about 165 people in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Rhode Island and Connecticut.
